We save those who live to save
Rellingen, June 11, 2020. In the course of the festivities celebrating AUTOFLUG’s 100th anniversary in October last year, employees, guests and friends of the company were asked to consider making a donation to the Soldatenhilfswerk, a soldiers’ relief association of the German Armed Forces. The response to this request was more than generous, resulting in the considerable sum of €10,000 being collected.
Due to the contact restrictions in recent months, it had not been possible to personally hand over the donation until now, but this was finally caught up on last week during the Inspector General of the German Armed Forces, Eberhard Zorn’s visit to AUTOFLUG.
“It has always been and still is very important to us to protect those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others. Normally this is done by providing our protective equipment, but supporting soldiers in moments when they themselves need help is an important signal of recognition and appreciation for us.” It is in this spirit that Andreas Sedlmayr, partner and grandson of the company founder, together with Martin Kroell, Managing Partner of AUTOFLUG, presented the donation cheque to General Zorn.
Founded in 1957, the Soldatenhilfswerk has been able to help more than 35,500 soldiers and their families in difficult situations to date – whenever exceptional circumstances call for external help.
